Purpose
Rehabilitation of dedicated active transportation bridge. It is in poor structural condition and needs to be rehabilitated in the short term. As a historic resource, it has been part of the city of Red Deer's identity and forms a heavily used, active transportation corridor. It is also a key river crossing as part of the Trans Canada Trail and is the only dedicated active transportation river crossing near populated areas which include the downtown and Riverside Meadows.
