Purpose
Through this project, the City of Mississauga will construct 2.5 km of new cycling routes to expand active transportation along this new emerging waterfront renewal. The new trail system will travel through the waterfront parkland of Lakeview Village, creating a recreational and transitory trail that provides public access to the landmark Western Pier and completes the Waterfront Trail system connection between Mississauga and Toronto. Trail development will include all necessary infrastructure for cycling and pedestrians, lighting, washroom facilities, shaded rest areas & seating, cycling bridges, safe pedestrian crossings, bicycle parking, bicycle repair stations, cycling counters and wayfinding signage.
