Purpose
Funding to complete a feasibility study, functional plan, conceptual layout, and detailed design for a centralized traditional and local processing kitchen facility in Whitehorse, Yukon. This facility will utilize traditional and local foods when possible to feed daily meals to 2000 First Nation children in all Yukon communities. In response to barriers previously identified by YFNED to create an urban First Nation nutritional delivery program, this kitchen would be designed to act as a wild meat and local protein butchering facility with storage capacity.
