Purpose

The Government of Canada recognizes that extraordinary security measures taken for international multilateral events can have negative effects on for-profit businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals in the communities where the events are taking place. For this reason, the Government of Canada has established the International Multilateral Events Program to help reduce the negative financial impact of the implementation of extraordinary security measures in relation to international multilateral events, including the G7 Summit.
