Purpose
This project aims to increase the economic participation and resilience of 18,400 disadvantaged youth (10,915 young women and 1,050 youth living with disabilities) in Ethiopia, Rwanda and Somalia. It does so by providing them with the skills and support needed to succeed in the growing green economy. The project aims to improve the teaching capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions by revising curricula and providing technical and material support, particularly in emerging and green skills. It also supports disadvantaged youth gain marketable skills needed to successfully find and sustain employment through financial support for TVET enrollment, entrepreneurship training, and employability skills training. The project also seeks to increase formal employment and entrepreneurship opportunities by providing business development services, internship placements or access to waged jobs.
