EQCMA

Purpose

This project vise following the design, manufacture and acquisition in 2023-2024 of a mobile nitrogen foam delivery unit for the depopulation of poultry in poultry housing during crisis situations such as Avian Influenza, EQCMA wants to validate the functioning of this new technology (developed by a new firm based in the United States) in collaboration with a Quebec enterprise specializing in industrial gases. The project involves testing this technology through 5 field tests held over 3 different periods, to assess its effectiveness in different types of poultry housing. It also involves evaluating animal welfare parameters to be able to confirm that the technology is acceptable in this regard, in accordance with federal and provincial requirements (Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec).
