Purpose

The objective of this project aims to complete farm specific plans for humane depopulation and on farm disposal of animals (by burial or compost) for all Ontario commercial farms should it be necessary to respond to disease issues such as African swine fever as well as related market interruption events or localized events, such as barn fires.  Additionally, survey of available on-farm resources (i.e., staffing, equipment and other materials for large scale depopulation and carcass disposal) will be completed.
