Nahanni Butte Dene Band

Purpose

This project will fund the operations for the participation and travel of the Nah?a Dehe Dene and Dehcho First Nations members of the Nah?a Dehe Consensus Team and the secretariat which will support the members and their work on the Nah?a Dehe Consensus Team. This project will support the Nah?a Dehe K’ehodi Guardians to carry out on-the-land training and monitoring of ecological and cultural resources of Nahanni National Park Reserve and work in conjunction on Nahanni National Park Reserve Resource Conservation and Warden staff on management activities This project will provide funding to support the perpetuation of traditional teachings and knowledge within the Nah?a Dehe Dene and Dehcho First Nations’ communities’ from Elders to youth as well as provide opportunities for tourists to expand their understanding and appreciation of Dene teachings.
