Purpose

A new material platform based on hole Ge/SiGe structures for quantum applications will be developed. This material is fully compatible with the large-scale state-of-the–art silicon foundries for mass production and also has a number of attractive superior properties compared to other material systems. Quantum dot devices containing just a few holes will be developed. A special attention will be paid to improved sensitivity and the bandwidth of quantum spin-readout sensors based on Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUID). A fast sensitive readout is critical in quantum technologies for coping with 1/f noise and for fast high fidelity quantum protocols to process quantum information stored in spin qubits.
