Purpose
This project will enable NGen to work with innovative Canadian SMEs to increase their understanding of the advantages and business opportunities associated with adopting additive manufacturing (AM), including cost savings, shorter product development cycles, and improved design and efficiency. It will also provide SMEs with hands‑on experience in using AM to produce low‑volume parts for a range of applications, such as repairing high‑performance and low‑cost tools, dies, and plastic or composite molds (including conformal cooling), as well as enabling part consolidation and lightweighting.
