Purpose

This project will help to create a more enabling environment for women’s political leadership and participation in the ASEAN region. This means an environment where there are more women in politics, where women in politics are better protected from violence, and where women’s issues are better addressed in law and policy. The programme will work to deepen the regional evidence base on barriers to women’s political leadership and participation in the ASEAN region as a whole, pursue targeted country-level work in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia focused on working with women political leaders and gender equality champions, including fostering collaboration and support of men.
