Purpose

The objective of this project is for the intern to gain experience learning about health needs for the first nation community, through learning about planting seeds and transplanting, ensuring a water supply for the fruit and vegetable garden, the correct ventilation requirements are met daily for the plants in the high tunnel structures, weeding, pest management, pruning of plants, harvest and distribution of the food to community members. The intern will assist in building a 96 x 24 foot grow tunnel structure, including water lines and mulch.
