The department has a requirement for the collection of paper applications including biometrics at the Visa Application Centres abroad. The biometric information collected from visa applicants is comprised of fingerprints and digital photographs. The global Visa Application Centre (VAC) network plays an integral part in Canada’s Immigration Program as the VACs are the main point of enrolment for those required to provide biometric data. This contract supports the department’s delivery of its core mandate with regards to conducting the screening of potential residents to protect the health, safety and security of Canadians.
