Pacific Offshore Oceanographic Science Vessel Service
Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO)
Description
The objective is to secure a suitable charter vessel, with competent crew, for the successful delivery of Pacific, offshore oceanographic science missions as a replacement for the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) John P. Tully. The CCGS John P. Tully is a Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) offshore oceanographic science vessel that primarily serves as a floating research platform for scientists from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). Operating mainly in the Northeast Pacific from its base at the Institute of Ocean Sciences in Sidney, British Columbia, the vessel enables the collection of critical oceanographic, biological, and ecosystem data needed to support evidence-based management of Canada’s marine resources.
