Purpose
This project aims to reduce the threats posed by explosive ordnances to vulnerable populations in Southeast Asia through sustainable and strategic mine action. Project activities include: : (1) supporting further engagement with key non-governmental stakeholders in the region on mine action; (2) facilitating exchange visits, technical working groups and other ad hoc forums between the Regional Mine Action Centre (ARMAC) and the region’s national mine action authorities; (3) developing a monitoring and evaluation framework; (4) developing and implementing comprehensive training programs for national authorities tailored to address the diverse mine action needs of the region; and (5) developing inclusive risk education programs and materials to raise awareness about the dangers of explosive ordinances.
