Purpose

Newfoundland and Labrador will promote access to justice services and increase knowledge and awareness of the impact of victimization; the needs of victims of crime; available services, assistance and programs available to victims; and to undertake various activities and training that support the implementation of the Canadian Victims Bill of Rights. Newfoundland and Labrador intends to enhance accessibility of services and victim participation in the justice system through the use of technology and other creative resources for victims/witnesses and their families, including those with special needs, living in rural and urban settings.
