Purpose

Given that India is viewed as representing a huge opportunity for Canada, this project seeks to address issues faced by Canadian post-secondary institutions in their efforts to secure and offer enhanced international opportunities to Canadian students. This application proposes a high-level, results-oriented workshop that brings together major stakeholder groups, including post-secondary institutions and associations, provincial and federal governments and organizations, and Indo-Canadian national and international advocacy groups. A key partner in this initiative is the Asia-Pacific Foundation which supported the development of baseline documentation aimed at promoting Canadian post secondary interests in India. The workshop will examine research on the issues, prioritize a viable number of challenges that can be realistically addressed, identify desirable solutions, procure buy-in from stakeholders, and strategize an itinerary for achieving and implementing proposed solutions.
