Purpose

The contribution to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development aims to support a Multi-Country Senior Civil Service Leadership Project. The project will be executed over a two-year period, which includes a meeting every six months, hosted by a different participating country. These meetings will engage participants in a series of plenary sessions, workshops and case studies, including a Canadian case study, designed to answer the need for a deeper exploration of priority issues related to leadership in the public sector. Also, this project aims to identify core elements of effective public leadership, develop a leadership charter amongst Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development in public sectors, as well as identify new and innovative practices. By means of case studies, this will enable a better understanding of the tools and processes used to implement effective and values-based leadership in member countries.
