Purpose
With Canada's support, the United Nations (UN) Department of Peace Operations and Department of Management Strategy, Compliance and Policy aim to enhance UN peace operations trough training and capacity building to support field mission globally. Project activities include: (1) enhancing policy, guidance, and training on child protection for civilian and uniformed personnel. This is done to reinforce the child protection mandate in UN peace operations; (2) supporting the UN system to plan and manage transitions from peacekeeping missions by increasing the capacity of national, regional, and international partners to sustain peace beyond mission withdrawal; (3) supporting the UN advisory and mobile teams to work with troop and police contributing countries on their national explosive ordinance disposal curricula and to bring them in line with the UN minimum standards; (4) providing specialized advice and technical assistance to missions with protection of civilians mandates, and ensuring protection of civilia
