Purpose
This project aims to increase stability in Coastal West Africa to prevent spreading violent extremism. The project supports early response to conflict and potential extremist attacks in the border areas of Burkina Faso and Benin by establishing a localized early warning system. It also seeks to promote community stability and human security. Project activities include: (1) improved access to early warning information for residents of the project areas, particularly for women, youth, and marginalized groups; (2) increased stakeholder capacity to prevent and mitigate violence, including violent extremism; and (3) increased community capacity to identify and address security threats, including enhancing situational awareness and timely decision-making to avoid danger during active crises in the project areas.
