Purpose

PYVC: The Canadian Benefit for Parents of Young Victims of Crime (PYVC) is a grant for parents or legal guardians. It provides financial assistance to eligible applicants who take time away from work because of the death or disappearance of their child under the age of 25 from a probable criminal offence, the incident must have occurred in Canada on or after September 30, 2018. PMMC*: The Federal Income Support for Parents of Murdered or Missing Children (PMMC) is an income support grant available to eligible applicants who have suffered a loss of income as a result of taking time away from work to cope with the death or disappearance of their child (or children) under the age of 18. The child (or children) must have been the victim(s) of a probable Criminal Code offence that led to their death or disappearance and the incident must have occurred in Canada on or after January 1, 2013.
