Purpose
This project aims to use remote sensing and field-based observations to elucidate expected trajectories of landscape change and its impacts in order to reduce uncertainty and support forward-looking adaptation for Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation (VGFN) members. Traditional knowledge will be used to identify key aspects of the landscape linked to local land use (e.g., vegetation covers that facilitate or hinder travel), which will become focal points for the scientific and communication components of the project. Information will be synthesised, and specialised communication products will be developed for the community highlighting changes affecting key landscape features linked to land use by community members to ensure that the information produced is clear and useable.
