Purpose
The Project aims to protect 555 meters of a vulnerable, strategic coast road in Halifax and increase community resilience against coastal erosion and flooding. This will be achieved by implementing green infrastructures, such as replacing existing stone with native vegetation; instating a salt marsh; and installing a rock structure (sill) to dissipate wave energy and protect the shore. As part of the shoreline rehabilitation, a raised permeable waterfront trail will also be installed for access to nature, along with increased native vegetation and rain gardens.
