Purpose
Wetlands have been identified as a priority for restoration on AQAM lands due to increasing heat, drought and wildfire risk. Enhancement and restoration of this critical habitat will benefit all living things. Restoring these wetlands will return it to a more natural state, help the community connect with nature, enhance the efficiency and function of ecological processes, enhance the biodiversity of plants and animals. With these changes, the aq¿amnik¿ community will use the land the same way that they once did such as collecting medicinal plants, hunting, fishing, and trapping.
