Purpose
The Recipient will engage in Step 2 of Finance Canada's engagement process on Indigenous economic participation in Trans Mountain. The Recipient will work towards the general objective of enabling participating Indigenous groups to make an informed decision on whether and how they wish to be represented in a potential future negotiation with Canada on Indigenous economic participation in Trans Mountain. Eligible activities include: conducting outreach, communication, and recruitment among participating Indigenous groups; establishing internal governance structures; engaging experts (including legal); and engaging support to provide secretariat services, including coordination and communications with members groups. The Recipient is eligible to be reimbursed up to a maximum amount derived from the number of Member Groups during the Eligible Expenditure period, which the Recipient could satisfactorily confirm with evidence by January 31, 2022. This Recipient provided such evidence of 7 Member Groups, and is therefore eligible to be reimbursed up to $170,000.
