Purpose
Propose methods adapted to estimate traditional and new forest attributes at the tree level from MLS point clouds, namely, height, tree horizontal position, diameter, stem taper, and crown dimensions and density, to implement a scientifically innovative procedure to estimate tree volume, biomass, for tree allometric development through analysis of the MLS point cloud, and to develop anew method to quantify 3D distribution of forest understory and vegetation layering composing the canopy.
