Purpose
The contribution supports small-scale commemorative projects and gatherings related to the designation of the Residential School System as a national historic event. The University of Manitoba will use funding from Parks Canada to support select commemorative initiatives related to residential school sites through the Na-mi-quai-ni-mak Community Support Fund. This contribution supports the Government of Canada’s implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 79.
