Purpose

With this funding, John Howard Society British Columbia will develop, implement, and expand record suspension application support services for individuals with criminal records across British Columbia. The project will focus on increasing awareness of record suspension opportunities, strengthening community outreach, and providing culturally appropriate, client‑centred supports to guide applicants through the record suspension process. By addressing financial, administrative, and systemic barriers (particularly for marginalized and underserved populations, including those in rural and northern communities) the project aims to increase successful record suspension outcomes and support sustained rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
