Purpose
The Green Building Technologies (GBT) applied research group at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) has been approached by SPS West to assist in the design and prototyping of a solar water heating system (SWH) for the mandated safety showers in the petrochemical industrial sectors. In addition, the project will showcase the integration of renewable energy in safety showers, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, while demonstrating the use of solar energy systems in remote and environmentally sensitive areas with limited grid access. _x000D_
