Purpose
The project consists of new construction and rehabilitation of two wastewater treatment plants (WWTP): the Greenway WWTP and the Adelaide WWTP. Work at each WWTP will consist of a flood barrier and an effluent pumping station to protect critical infrastructure, which will help reduce environmental impacts to the local river (Thames River) and downstream impacts to Lake Erie and neighbouring communities. Together, they would help mitigate the impacts of flooding from the Thames River. The project would begin construction in 2022 and end in 2024.
