Purpose

Cyber Safety for Vulnerable Newcomers to Canada aims to reduce cybercrime victimization by providing accessible, multilingual training tailored to low‑literacy newcomers, supported through Moodle, webinars, and cyber‑English practice. The initiative will scale from 4,000 learners in Year 2 to 10,000 annually by Year 5, reaching over 29,000 newcomers and equipping 2,600 settlement staff across Canada. Led by Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC) with national umbrella organizations, evaluated by Ference & Co., and validated annually by Telus cybersecurity experts, the project will create a sustainable hub of cyber safety knowledge, strengthening newcomer resilience and advancing Cyber Security Cooperation Program (CSCP) priorities.
