Purpose

To support the development of a national health information system in order to achieve nationally comparable information for measuring wait times and outcomes of care, determine the relative effectiveness of policies or investments, and build a coordinated approach to health information that will address gaps in the knowledge base and provide the information needed to assess the health of Canadians and the health system.
