Purpose
Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (KI) is experiencing safety and wellness issues which continue to overload service providers and the community in responding effectively and efficiently. In support of the safety plan, the community will engage in the creation of an Elders Circle, youth group, language and culture land based camp and interagency forum. These activities will support community development to increase their safety capacity. The target population will include: children, youth, young families, Elders, seniors and other members of the community. Band administration, Elders group, health department and the safety advisory will be responsible for delivering activities monthly over the course of the 11 months. Project activities will be led by a coordinator who will be responsible for organizing the proposed activities and interagency support.
