Purpose
Through this 29-month project, the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) will help advance women’s economic security, prosperity, and representation in leadership and decision-making roles. Specifically, the project will address the needs and barriers to equality for women in the firefighting industry by creating, piloting and evaluating anti-bullying strategies and through the development of mitigation strategies. The statements themselves will promote understanding and help to depersonalize the context of bullying, support victims and encourage an accountable, respectful, and safe workplace. The development of these statements, in consultation with CAFC members, will result in the provision of educational materials and a code of conduct to promote an anti-bullying culture within the sector. An external evaluator will measure and assess the impact of the systemic change project
