Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre

Purpose

Through this 12-month capacity building project Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc. aims to advance gender equality by adopting a comprehensive approach that is rooted in Indigenous values to address internal gaps and align strategic objectives. Key activities include an in-depth organizational review and assessment; engagement with staff and community; creation of program specific strategic plans; staff trainings in leadership, computer literacy and reporting skills as well as the creation of a framework and data tools to inform decision making. By the end of the project, Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc. will have strengthened their capacity and their organizational impacts towards the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Inquiry’s 231 Calls to Justice as they work together with their families, community and partners to provide community care, family preservation, youth development and Indigenous knowledge programs for the Winnipeg area.
