Purpose
This project will offer active travellers the ability to explore and be active in the community by connecting the Confederation Trails to multi-use pathways in the community; a floating dock/boardwalk system that offers access to the Hillsborough River; and an Active Transportation Visitor Centre that will provide storage for and access to active transportation equipment. Abegweit has already purchased kayaks, canoes, snowshoes, skis, bicycles and e-bikes, but does not have a facility to properly store this equipment and more importantly, connect the public to this equipment to encourage active transportation.
