Purpose

The project aims, on the one hand, to help target communities make greater use of the mining fund for local development (FMDL) to improve the abilities of communities and organizations to implement local initiatives focused on peace and security and, on the other hand, to strengthen the capacities and involvement of women, girls and marginalized groups in local initiatives. The goal is to encourage their leadership and foster the development of inclusive and equitable initiatives within communities. By strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations, the project aims to promote the participation of local communities in the management of mining resources. This should ensure that the interests of local communities are taken into account, helping to reduce frustrations and tensions that fuel violence, conflict and illegal trade within the communities.
