Purpose

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to local members from the Mushkegowuk First Nation communities to become cadets, providing those officers to become full-scale officers after a 1-to-3-year term. This program aims to address officer recruitment and retention issues especially as officers do not live in the communities they serve. The cadet program will provide a pool of indigenous candidates to hire constables and provide needed assistance to constables.
