Purpose

The overall objective of the City of Cornwall's - Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) program is to deliver youth-focused programming in a rented Youth Community Safe space where youth can congregate in a welcoming environment and where key support programs can take place.  The City will also engage key community partners through a series of micro-grants to target at risk youth populations.  This project will allow Cornwall an opportunity to launch programming and building its longer-term multi-year gun and gang strategy to deliver prevention and intervention strategies for youth at risk of gun and gang involvement. The overall goal is to close existing gaps in youth services, engage youth in productive and engaging programs that will keep them from entering gangs and committing acts of nuisance, increase awareness, and successfully combat gun and gang violence in the City of Cornwall.
