Purpose
This proposal seeks support for 2025–2029 to initiate fieldwork at Anderson Bay, building on decades of research at Karrak Lake to study Ross’s and lesser snow geese in the central Arctic. The project aims to monitor nesting ecology and demographics, assess population trajectories, and identify factors driving these trends. Deliverables include annual estimates of population size, body composition, nesting success, and habitat impacts, alongside long-term monitoring programs to inform management actions.
