Purpose

This contribution supports the Together with Giigonnyag project — a “two-eyed seeing” research initiative that brings together Indigenous and Western scientific ways of knowing to better understand and address concerns about dikameg (lake whitefish) in Lake Huron. The project places a strong emphasis on the functional role dikameg play in the waters surrounding the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula and will focus on understanding the behaviour and movements of different dikameg populations, as well as larval productivity.
