Purpose

This contribution supports the Nation Micmac de Gespeg in organizing Mawiomi 2024. Mawiomi, which means “gathering” in the Mi’gmaq language, allows the population and visitors of Forillon National Park to discover Mi’gmaq culture. This contribution also supports the efforts of the Nation Micmac de Gespeg for the conservation of Indigenous archaeological heritage. Members of the Gespeg community participate in conducting archaeological surveys with Parks Canada archaeologists.
