Foreign Study Supplements in Taiwan provide graduate students in the natural sciences and engineering with first-hand research experience in an international setting. The primary goals of this program are to introduce students to science and engineering in Taiwan through a research laboratory environment, and to develop personal relationships that will improve their collaboration with their foreign counterparts in the future. The program is co-sponsored by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in Taiwan, with the assistance of the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in coordinating the orientation, arranging language courses, and in helping participants travel to individual universities or research institutes.
