Purpose

Automated Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) will be developed using autonomous robots. Specifically, algorithms that will enable robots to autonomously scan a construction site while avoiding workers to gather camera and LiDAR data will be developed. This data will be compared with BIM 3D design models to identify discrepancies between designed and built configurations and flag mistakes. These algorithms will be implemented in software and demonstrated in a laboratory environment on ground and aerial robots.
