Purpose
The Project will focus on the optimization of library preparation for long-read DNA sequencing applications using next-generation technologies, such as those required for high-quality crop genome assemblies, as well as other purposes. To this end, a state-of-the-art sequencing platform will be supplemented with dedicated equipment allowing the high-sensitivity profiling, purification and quality control of high molecular weight nucleic acids such as derived from single-cell applications and/or intended for long-range genomic sequencing. The system will be tested and available to support the research needs of multiple stakeholders in the Canadian plant-protein sector.
