Purpose
A comprehensive Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework will be developed, validated and made available to the research community. This framework will integrate open source tools to evaluate carbon conversion technologies based on three criteria: •Scientific and technical value of the proposed technology, morespecifically proposed novel materials for CO2 conversion should besupported by high quality peer-reviewed scientific publications; •Economic impact of the proposed technology including product(s)unit cost(s); and •GHG impact (Global Warming Potential/GWP) using LCAmethods. The proposed framework will provide tools to evaluate the cost and GHG impact of each CO2 conversion pathways and identify critical development gaps allowing for increasing TRL in the future. The team will also build the back end (database, tools and webserver) and front end (user interface) to support the proposed integrated platform. The Recipient will work in collaboration with the University of Toronto and the University of Alberta on this collaborative project with the NRC.
