Purpose
The goal of this project is to enhance the novel Connected Vehicle Platform to communicate traffic signal timing information to the driver and to implement real-time adjustment of the signal timing using the real-time connected vehicle information. This will provide priority to the vehicle. The enhancement will include improvements in the performance of the algorithms and analytics and implementation of the preemption functionality. As part of this project the developed technology will be piloted in a partner Regional Municipality in Ontario.
