Purpose

Baraa El-Kadri set out looking for an institute willing to create a blockchain centre of excellence and support the development of a panel of industry experts that can provide idea validation services for SMEs. Ryerson University accepted the challenge and plans to establish a consortium of leading researchers in the area of blockchain technology to support the development of blockchain technology with at least five Canadian SMEs. The BRTB will be led by the Blockchain Review Panel (BRP). This panel of experts and IRAP representatives will in turn identify additional Canadian researchers to support SMEs as affiliate members. Through an online application, the BRP and affiliate members will be called upon to work directly with approved SMEs to develop an action plan that includes: a review of their technology and proposed application, potential funding opportunities, potential applied research opportunities and a list of potential partners.
