Curve Lake First Nation

Purpose

CLFN are building a 1-acre greenhouse structure that will allow the community to produce 275,000 pounds of fresh Tilapia annually and a variety of greens (lettuce, kale, arugula, spinach) and vine crops (tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers) on a weekly basis. The business will produce significant job opportunities for community members during the construction of the facility and full and part-time employment opportunities once the facility is in full production. In addition, the business will produce annual profits that the community can utilize for other economic development opportunities or for expansion of the business. The new venture will require bringing in technical expertise initially to assist in training and managing.
