Purpose
Project Summary: This project proposes a feasibility study of the establishment of a compound semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in Canada composed of a foundry and all other elements required to produce known good and secure semiconductor devices. It also provides recommendations on where to focus attention in order to address shortcomings based on industry shared experience. The report proposes to setup a framework that follows Design Thinking methodology in approaching the ecosystem. It will review Best Practices in funding from existing frameworks like Eureka, NRC IRAP and IMEC.
